I bought these Aldo heart sunglasses last week since I thought they would be fun to take with me on our Honeymoon! Of course I had to give them a test drive this weekend while out and about.

What do you think of the heart trend sunglasses?

On Sunday the fiance and I took a trip into Red Hook to do a cake tasting at Baked. This was our 3rd cake tasting in the span of 5 days. At least we spread it out....Anyway this little red lobster scarf from Hugssy and Calvin Klein hat have quickly become my favorite spring go to accessories. They have a nautical feel to it and I love that I can throw them on and feel dresses up even on the most casual days.

This is what I wore to Easter dinner with my family. Before meeting up with them I bought some flowers for my grandma, mother, and of course myself. Nothing says like Spring and Easter like a fresh bunch of bouquets. Flowers always cheer me up and add a little oomph to my apartment.

So it seems yet again that everyone on my instagram feed was at Coachella this weekend (way to rub it in guys!). I obviously was not. Instead, I was roaming around New York with my fiance checking off things on our wedding checklist, all the while looking like I should be at a music festival. I have a feeling this look will be my summer uniform.

Jacket: Elie Tahari | Shirt: no name | Shorts: Urban Outfitters (old) | Shoes: Shoemint | Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target | Hat: Ralph Lauren | Scarf: NY Street Vendor

This weekend was full of exciting wedding stuff including looking at wedding bands and starting a small wedding registry at Crate and Barrel. Since the fiance and I were near Central Park we decided to take a small little stroll and snap some pictures. It was a lot colder on Saturday then I thought it would be, but thankfully I decided to throw on my pashmina scarf. I'm going to just admit it now I love pashmina scarves that NYC street vendors sell. They are inexpensive and the ones I have bought have lasted a long time. I have a ever growing collection of them. Scarves during the winter are not only one way to keep warm but can really pick up a look. You can add a pop of color by using a scar or you can use it to mix prints, especially prints you would't necessarily think of mixing. I don't think I would have ever tried mixing houndstooth and plaid together if it wasn't for my scarf.

Are you a scarf fan?

Weekend Wear: Leather Pants from Day to Night

Leather is everywhere this season from jackets to shirts to pants. I have to admit I'm all in about the leather pants trend. It's all about finding the right quality for the price you are willing to spend, plus the fit of the pants. It took me awhile to find an affordable "leather" pants, but finally found one that worked best for me from H&M. These pants work for the weekend more then the weekday, unless you work in fashion or somewhere else that you'd can get away with wearing this trend. I ended up wearing these this past Saturday while running around during the day day doing some errands and then switched up my look for my fiance's art opening that night. A simple change of the top, swap of a lipstick, and switching of the shoes can change everything about what the outfit says.

Stila in Fiore

For the day time look I kept it casual and cozy. Some wedge sneakers not only give the whole look a urban feel but also gives it a little lift. While a cozy cardigan and scarf are a perfect pairing for strolls on a fall day. I did a pink lip for a day look to brighten the whole outfit up a bit.

Top: H&M (old) | Pants: H&M | Shoes: Zara | Jacket: H&M (super old) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff
Sunglasses: No Names | Lipstick: c/o BA Star

I swapped out my pink Stila lips for the BA Star Holiday Red lip pencil. This lip pencil works perfect by itself or you can do a little coat over it of your favorite red color. You can even blend in a little bit of plum to pull off a burgundy lip. Red lips are sultry and are perfect for leather pants, but beware of what you are pairing with to where you are going. Since I was going to my fiance's art opening I didn't want to look to va-va-boom, so a little bit of sparkle and booties to keep the look appropriate for a night time function. To finish off the look I paired my favorite H&M coat that I've had forever. Who doesn't love a colorful coat?

Are you willing to try the leather pants trend?

1 Dress 2 Ways: The Weekend Edition

There is nothing quite like a easy throw on and go dress for those hot sticky weekends when getting dressed feels like a chore. Slip like dresses are not only comfortable but can easily be transitioned from day to night. They can take you from brunch with friends to late night drinks with a simple switch of accessories.

Dress: Zara | Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell | Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs | Sunglasses: Ray-bans | Necklace: c/o

We all get pretty lazy during the hot summer days, I mean I know do. Who even wants to think about getting dressed? This past weekend the fiance and I threw a little barbecue on our bare rooftop. Being that it's the end of July and it's a rooftop the thought of wearing anything more then a simple dress made me sweat. Before we can even start the day coffee called so this dress was perfect to throw on and go to our local coffee place and sit in the park to enjoy the morning. For a simple day look pair up your dress with a pair of your favorite sandals or flats. If you do jewelry keep it simple like a long chain necklace.

After a day of barbecuing we all went out for some drinks at our favorite local bars. Throwing on a great pair of heeled booties can give the whole look a total different vibe and dress up it up a bit. Since we were staying local and since we live in Brooklyn I tied a denim top around my waist to keep it casual...and O so very Brooklyn.

What is your favorite day to night look for the weekend?

I was lucky enough to have receive a package from my good blogger friend Pamala from Addikited2Fashion which included two shirts from MNG, this one shown above and the Last Night a Blogger Saved My Life shirt, and a package from INPINK on the same day. Both t-shirts work perfectly with the two INPINK necklaces. These necklaces are bold but can be dressed super causally with graphic tees and shorts for a total weekend wear look.
