Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2010 Campaign

Photos from trendland.net
There's one thing that this Fall 2010 Campaign is not missing and that is color. There is a lot of color in this one campaign and bright colors at that. I do like the vibrant colors especially for the fall since usually fall/winter colors are of dark shades. The leopard prints are also a nice touch. Although I'm not sure how I feel about this campaign in whole. The only reason it really grabs my attention is the vibrant colors, but for such a luxury line such as Dolce & Gabana it doesn't give me that luxurious feeling. It sort of leaves me empty. Actually, some of the clothing reminds me something Express would sell. I'm not sure if it's the colors or the slip like dresses/skirts that gave me this thought. Either way not the biggest fan of this.
What are your guys opinion? What do you think of Dolce & Gabbana's Fall 2010 campaign?

Steal the Look for Less: Jessica Parker and Gwyenth Paltrow

This fall season it is all about the Military style. Already some celebrities can't wait to pull on their military green. Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwyenth Paltrow both have on their military green pants.

photo from people.com

Parker is seen in Current/Elliot "Captain trousers and Paltrow pairs her pants with a Stella McCarthy blazer. Besides the pants, these ladies have another thing in common. They pull the look off right. They give two different looks to this trend.

You can get Paltrow's dressy military style by pairing up your military green pants with a cream/white blazer and black pumps.

Dressy Military

Outfits from left to right: 1. Uniqlo Blazer: $93 - uniqlo.co.uk; J.Crew Chinos: $70 - jcrew.com; Forever21 Pumps: $21 - forever21.com; 2. Ann Taylor Silk Crepe Stretch Boyfriend Jacket: $90 - anntaylor.com; Ann Taylor Trousers: $88 - anntaylor.com; Bebe Pumps: $140 - heels.com; 3. ASOS Boyfriend Blazer: $93 - asos.com; Women's AE Skinny Military Crop (Gerta Green): $20 - ae.com; ASOS Libby Flats: $37 - asos.com

This look is good for any time of day it can easily go from day to night. It's perfect for the office but also perfect for after work cocktails. This look is easy to pull off most of what you need is probably already in your closet: a white t-shirt, a cream blazer, and black pumps. You can jazz up your pumps by wearing something that is studded or jeweled like the Bebe shoe, $140. If you don't like the wear heels the perfect and ever so popular alternative is flats. The ASOS Libby, $37, flats are the perfect alternative with it's white bow to match the cream blazer. The bow also helps spice up the flats.

While Paltrow's look can go from day to night Parker's is more of a casual look. Her look is great for grabbing lunch with friends and doing some shopping. You can get her look my pairing up a graphic t-shirt with some military pants.

Casual Military
Outfits from left to right: 1. Delias Sky High Tee: $10 - delias.com; A.P.C New Fatigues: $133 - lagarconne.com; Smocked Rainbow Scarf: $8.80 - forever21.com; Forever21 Lace Up Peep Toe Booties: $26 - forever21.com; 2. Delias Joan Jett Tee: $15 - delias.com; ASOS Lee Military Pocket Detail Trousers: $51 - asos.com; Forever21 boots: $33 - forever21.com; Fred Flare Boho Multicolor Tote: $26 - fredflare.com; 3. Marcus Lupfer top: $125 - farfetch.com; Sparke and Fade Cutoff Ankle Pant: $58 - urbanoutfitters.com; Forever21 Heels: $25 - forever21.com

Try black lace up booties with a heel like both the Forever21 booties shown in outfits one and two. They give it a very military look with a famine flare. Graphic t-shirts help give the look a casual coolness to the outfit. A great graphic tee are band shirts. I'm sure everyone has at least a couple of band shirts lying around in their closets waiting to be worn. If not stores like Forever21, Delias, and Alloy are here to help you out. If you stick with a black and white graphic shirt why not make the outfit pop with a little bit of color like Parker did with her tribal print bag. Use a scarf like the Forever21 smocked rainbow scarf, $8.00. Or try a tribal print bag like the Fred Flare boho multicolor tote, $26. Wear a shirt with a bit of color like the Delia's Joanne Jet tee, $15.

I'm obsessed with this look. I love everything from the pants to the boots. The best thing about this trend is that you can dress it up or down.

What do you think of their looks? Whose outfit do you like more Sarah Jessica Parker's or Gwenthy Paltrow's?

H&M: Divided Autumn 2010

On H&M's Facebook like page they posted pictures from their Divided line for their Autumn collection. Here are a few of the looks:
You can view the collection here.

I always liked the Divided line from H&M. This line is more comfortable and relaxed then some of their other lines. I love the leopard print shirt and the structured khaki skirt. Also, the leather jacket and the inside lining with leopard print is pretty stellar. I'm excited for the military greens this fall, I'm not ready for the weather just yet but definately excited for some of these colors and trends.

What do you guys think of H&M's Divided Line?

Inspirational Monday: Back to School

For some reason I can't get the Teen Vogue editorial out of my head. I did a post on their back to school fashion spread on Friday, you can view the blog entry here. It really got me thinking about back to school fashion. I can't even remember a time in high school when I wear high heels to school. I know in college I dressed up (sometimes) for classes. I do miss school clothes shopping. It gave me a reason to go shopping now my reason for shopping is the seasons. Have to get work clothes for the fall, winter, spring, and summer. That's the way I look at it now.

Anyway, I created a set focused around back to school fashion.

Back to School

Fashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore
Back to School by poetofsorts featuring Seven For All Mankind jeans
Outfits from Left to Right: 1. Cashmere-blend roll-neck sweater from Y-3: $460 - net-a-porter.com, Tom Taylor Slim Fit Jeans: $77 - 7trends.de; John Hardy Overlap Silver Ring:$325 - net-a-porter.com; Ann Demeulemeester leather bucket backpack: $845 - luisaviaroma.com; Converse Sneaker Studs: $1,030 - jades24.com; 2. Oliver Peoples Sheldrake D-frame acetate glasses: $315 - net-a-porter.com; Alice in the Eve Let It Be Blazer: $125 - generalpants.com.au; Aubin & Wills Striped Cotton Tank: $70 - net-a-porter.com; NYMPHENBURG - PORCELAIN HEART PENDANT NECKLACE: $595 - luisaviaroma.com; Seven for All Mankind Jeans: $155 - net-a-porter.com; Miu Miu Horn-straped Suede Tote: $1,395 - net-a-porter.com; Christian Louboutin Big Lip calf hair pumps: $995 - net-a-porter.com, 3. Glitter Owl T-shirt from Delias:$20 - delias.com; Ellery Sunglasses: $300 - thegrandsocial.com.au; Stella McCarthy Cashmere and Silk Blend Cardigan:$845 - net-a-porter.com, Ralik Necking Yellow T-shirt: $16 - zumiez.com; J-Brand Jeans: $255 - jades24.com; Forever21 Red Bow Pumps:21 - forever21.com; Proezna Schouler Medium Leather Satchel: $1,595 - net-a-porter.com; Urban Outfitters Rose on Vine Ring: $24 - urbanoutfitters.com; 4. Preen Coco Sweater: $569 - lagarconne.com; Citizens of Humanity Jeans: $165 - net-a-porter.com; Dorthy Perkins Owl Ring: $12 - dorothyperkins.com; Jazz Shoes: $240 - toast.co.uk; Tano Backdoor Backpack: $225 - musthavebag.com

In High School and College (and even now) I love printed graphic t-shirts. I think they are perfect for those days that you want to dress down and they are perfect for when you want to look comfortably chic. I adore the glitter owl t-shirt from Delias ($20). This shirt can easily be paired up with some skinny jeans, a cardigan and red pumps for a dressy look. Add some accessories like sunglasses and rings to tie the look together.

Dump your old book bag and get a more updated version like Tano Backdoor Bag, $225 (seen right bottom) or the Ann Demeulemeester leather bucket backpack, $845 (seen bottom right). These backs are not only fashionable but they are also functional. Keep in mind the functions of what your buying, you want to look chic but you also want it to be able to work with your lifestyle and day-to-day activity. Of course not all of us has a couple of hundred to drop on back packs. Topshop has a great backpack (Washed Two Pocket Backpack) for only $55 (US dollars). If you're more of a hand bag type of girl try a messenger bag that has handles so that they are duel purpose. Do however make sure they are big enough to carry whatever it is you need for class. The Miu Miu Horn Strapped Suede Tote bag, $1,395 (second back to the right) is perfect. The color can go with any outfit and it is functional for those who prefer handbags/shoulder bags over backpacks. Also, once again as an alternative Topshop has a satchel bag that has a handle and a strap, Medium Leather Bucket Satchel ($77 US Dollars).

I'm absolutely in love with the cashmere roll neck sweater from Y-3 ($460 - net-a-porter.com). The collar on the neck is fantastic and it has a sporty feel to it yet it is still very feminine. That's one way to stay true to your style when shopping but wanting to look chic. Look for things that are your style but have a touch a femininity to it. If you are a sporty type of girl try things like the Y-3 sweater on. I would even wear a leather jacket over it and pairing it up with some converse, or even some studded ones like the studded ones (seen to the right, $1,030, for cheap you can stud your own converse). Also, a big comfy sweater is a always needed for the winter days. Another must have would be a blazer. Blazers are an easy add to dress any outfit up.

Just remember when you go shopping functional and stay within your style but have fun with it. You don't want to buy anything that you'll never wear or that you'll only wear once. Make sure that it's something that you absolutely love and it fits you. Also, basics are always a plus. Sweaters, blazer, and simple t-shirts are always a good thing to have. Just remember to have fun with your style and who you are.

Are there any items that are a must have your back to school look or for the season?

Outfit Post

Jeans (leggings): H&M
Clogs: Charlotte Russe

Happy Friday everyone!!! I hope everyone had a great week! I feel like I haven't done an outfit post in FOREVER! I've been so busy this past month or so and it's only going to continue to get busy. The boyfriend and I at least found a new apartment in Brooklyn which means we get to start packing. Actually we just bought some boxes so we can start the packing this weekend. I'm sort of excited to get this stuff packed up! Which I'm sure will only last for about an hour...Well it is time to go rest up for packing tomorrow.

Does anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend? Gotta be better then packing haha

School House Rock

Pictures from FashionEditorials.net see the rest of the editorial here
Photographed by: Ben Weller Models: Sharon, Naomi & Robbie Hair: Holly SmithMakeup: Osvaldo Salvatierra Stylist: Nancy Rhode

These photos are from Teen Vogue August 2010. I think this editorial was so well done. I think everyone that took part in this shoot did an amazing job. It really came together. Even for someone who is done with school can appreciate this. Plus, I think the fashion in this editorial can transcend from someone who is high school age to someone who is older. How can anyone resist the leopard prints, red pumps, and cat eyes? This whole editorial makes me wish I was more fashionable in high school. I blame it on my 9 years in Catholic School and never having to pick out what to wear except on the weekends. But at least now I like to think I'm more put together.
Great job Teen Vogue!

Street Style: Siren Music Festival

Style.com did another photo gallery for the Village Voice Siren Music Festival in Coney Island like they did for Bonarroo. I wish I could have been there but instead that night I went to see the Dave Matthews Band at Citifield (which of course was nothing but amazing).
Here are a few looks from the photo gallery:
You can view the gallery here.

Have you been to any festivals this summer? Any festival looks you really live?

Carin Wester Selling in Urban Outfitters this October

Urban Outfitters' has their fall preview on their blog which you can check out here. They also announced that they will be carrying Carin Wester's fur lined wedge boot (seen below) in October. These boots are super sexy and sleek. They are perfect for those winter days and nights. I just love how wedges are being carried from the Summer to the Winter. At least I find wedged shoes to be a lot more comfortable then high heels. If you have never heard of Carin Wester you must check out her website. Carin's website is a lot like Urban Outfitters and her clothing does have the Urban Outfitters look to it. Her clothing is very modern but sexy. Her stuff is irresitible. Here's just a taste of some of Wester's pieces:Laleh Coat 1050 SEK ($141.79 USD)

Lova Jumper (Sweater) 450 SEK ($60.73 USD)

Leonora Print Dress 390 SEK ($52.67 USD)
Are you in love yet? Because I am. I'm totally hooked and swooning over EVERYTHING!

Steal the Style for Less: Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens was at the Neutrogena Wave for a Change event in Calif. looking beach perfect. She was seen in a metallic print dress by Missioni, Alisa and Tiger Lily layered necklace, and blush Jimmy Choo Sandals. Even her hair was beach perfection.

This outfit is undeniably California girl and who wouldn't want to look as good as her going to the beach. Hudgens goes beyound the typical summer prints like florals but stick with the nude/neutral color but has a pop to it by having the metallic color in it.

You can steal her look for less by choosing a print dress, try something along the lines of a tribal print. Below I put together a couple of outfit sets:

Steal the Look for Less: Venessa Hudgens

Steal the Look for Less: Venessa Hudgens by poetofsorts featuring Charlotte Russe dresses
Outfit from Left to Right: 1. Tribal Woven Dress: $24 - canada.forever21.com; Vinatge Gold Brown Necklace:$41 - instilo.com; Juicy Couture Giana Espadrille Thong Sandal: $87 - neimanmarcus.com; 2. Torn by Ronny Kobo Lou Tribal Row Dress: $183 - shopbop.com; Leaf Bead Cluster Necklace: $19 - dorothyperkins.com; Forever21 Sandals: $19 - dorothyperkins.com; 3. Tribal Print Tube Challis Dress: $14 - charlotterusse.com; Robyn Rhodes Katie Rutilated Drop with Leaf Necklace: $68 - couturecandy.com; Forever21 Wedges: $25 - forever21.com; 4. Billabong Dress: $30 - pacsun.com; Falling Leaves Necklace: $17 - alloy.com; Forever21 White Sandals: $7.50 - forever21.com; 5. GUESS by Marciano Noemi Sweater Knit Dress: $128 - marciano.com; Wooden Leaf TassleNecklace: $50 - hannahzakari.co.uk; Blush Peep Toe Shoes: $61 - dorothyperkins.com

You can try different dress lengths: short to long. You can also try different styles such as tanks, tube tops, and komono. Depending on your body shape and bust size you can decide which tops and lengths are perfect for you. With these dress I stuck with different shades of brown and black. I mostly also stuck with tribal prints. For a different approvoch to her dress I choose the komono style, Torn by Ronny Kobo, beacuse it is elegant but also perfect beach wear. Also the print of the dress helps it stand out. This dress is more on the expensive side ($183) but sometimes it's nice to have one pricey piece and pair it with less expensive pieces. With the Ronny Kobo dress it is paired up with a leaf beaded cluster necklace from Dorthy Perkins for $19 and Forever21 sandal pumps for $25.

Like Hudgens necklace I stuck with gold leafs. I like necklaces that also have extra charms to them this way you don't have to worry about layering but you can also choose to layer these necklaces as well.

The shoes you can do a wide variety from wedges to heels to flats to blush to white to tan. You have to stick with something that is comfortable to you and that will go with the dress. Wedges and maxi dresses go hand in hand together. And what's better then a maxi dress that cost $14 (from Charlotte Russe) and wedge sling backs that cost $25 (from Forever21). If you don't like to wear heels try simple sandals that come in a neutral or white color like the Forever21 white sandals that are on sale for $7.50.

Make sure to have fun with this look. Tease your hair a little and pin back the front. Wear some nude lipgloss and your ready for some sand, sun, and water!

What do you guys think of her style? What are your favorite things to wear to the beach?

Steal the Look for Less: Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie lately has been rocking out some great outfits. Richie, below, is seen in her rocker chic look with a Topshop dress and leather motorcycle jacket at the Carrera Sunglass rooftop party in LA. Stealing this look is easy as throwing on something girly and adding a leather jacket with some great boots...O it is that easy!

Steal the Look for LessFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore
Outfits from Left to Right: 1. Studd Drape Front Jacet: $76 - oasis-stores.com; Forever21 Top: $25 - forever21.com; Forever21 Clogs: $25 - forever21.com; Forever21 Heels: $13 - forever21.com; 2. Studded Faux Leather Jacket: $48 - canada.forever21.com; Chiffon Field Dress by Rare: $83 - topshop.com; Ecote Ankle Boot: $88 - urbanoutfitters.com; 3. Vero Moda Short Studded Biker Jacket: $76 - oli.co.uk; Great New Lace Dress: $48 - modcloth.com; Deena & Ozzy leather Harness Boots: $78 - urbanoutfitters.com

Try a lace dress or tunic top and pair it with a studded leather or faux studded leather motorcycle jacket and motorcycle boots. This gives you more variety of a lace dress then just the girly side of it. I love the idea of adding harder tones with softer tones. Motorcycle boots are the perfect touch. Try a flat bootie to give your outfit an edge.

If you want to play up the girly side a bit more try pairing your top and jacket with clogs or peep toe lace ups like in the first outfit. The Forever21 studded clogs are a nice finishing touch to this outfit because it has a heel and it has a harder look to it.

Use accessories to pull your look together. Use chunky rings and bracelets.

AccessoriesFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore
Items from left to right starting at the top left: 1. Forever21 Ring: $3.80 - forever21.com; 2. Giant Studded Wide Band Cuff: $15 - monsoon.co.uk; 3. 8 Row Stud Snap Bracelet: $30 - wetseal.com; 4.
