Dress: H&M
Belt: H&M (came with some pants)
Shoes: Isabel Toledo for Payless
Bag: Shiraleah
Earrings: gift from the bf

This is only the second time I wore this dress. I bought this dress a few months on a sale rack from H&M, got it for $15. It's a little big but nothing a belt can't fix. I really just love how light weight it is and that it is cobalt blue. Favorite accessories with cobalt blue is gold, gold really makes the color stand out and makes it fancy. I also got lots of compliments on my hair today. It's funny what a couple of braids will do for ya!

HEYHO it's Tuesday! The bonus of having a long weekend. Hope everyone had a great weekend and has a great week!

Long weekends always go so fast. This Memorial Weekend was a good one. It all really started Friday night watching our neighborhood slowly become a Hollywood set. They filmed Men in Black 3 (no Will Smith sadly) in the hood and transformed it to look like 1969 with old cars, fake subway stations, and old street signs. It was so awesome to see the hood buzzing and people out all hours of the night to watch them do the filming. Saturday as my friend's bbq birthday party. Lots of food, laughs, and drinking. I just have to say the girls kicked the boys ass in flip cup (something I haven't played in a really long time). Sunday the boy and I went to Governors Island for a brewers picnic. Lots of food trucks (found my new favorite one, Luke's Lobster Truck) and 3 beer tents (Brooklyn Brewery, Goose Island, and Six Point). It was so beautiful and who knew it was only a 5 minute ferry ride from Brooklyn to Governors Island. I see lots of picnics there in our future. Today did laundry and took a walk to a local park to sit and have some ice tea and lemonade.

Hair (the musical) - Long Beautiful Hair

Friend Friday: Hair Care

1. How often do you get your hair cut?
About every 6 months....

2. Do you go to the same stylist each time, try someone new, go to the cheap hair cutting chains or live it up in a salon?
I like to stick to the same hair stylist. I have been going to my stylist for about 2 years now. I do however like to switch up my cuts. I'm always about trying something new. I love my stylist since she always gets excited about cutting my hair because she likes that I switch up my hair cuts.

3. Do you color your hair? How often? What’s your natural color?
I first highlighted my hair sophomore year of college (did the out home stuff with a couple of friends which was a fail) and continued to do so (by a professional) until my senior year then I just stopped. Not to long ago did I go get my hair cut and highlighted.

4. The one thing you always do to keep your hair looking great is:
I just started using Mane and Tail Maximum Herbal Gro pomade a few months ago.

I use it after every wash. I put it in while my hair while it is still wet but I first rub it in my palms first to get it warmed up and then flip my hair over and rub it in. To make sure it really gets in there I wrap my hair in my towel for a few minutes before styling. I really have noticed a difference. I would have split ends by now and styling my hair is so much easier.

5. What hair trend do you love and wish you could rock?
Long braids!!! Especially the fish tail braid, if I had long hair I would def. learn how to do these. I miss my long hair. I'm trying to grow it all back!

Shirt: Apart
Shorts: Forever21
Shoes: Christian Siriano for Payless
Necklace: H&M
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs

I finally bought the Lady Gaga cd (hence the title)...and I may have or may not have bought a Lady Gaga shirt (by that I mean I def. bought a Lady Gaga shirt). I totally rocked out to the cd after lunch today, a long with my other two male ("straight") colleagues. For some of the songs it took me two listens to really like, like Americano and Heavy Metal Lover. Overall the cd is really great and filled with some awesome dance music...at little on the religious side and very 1990s dance music influenced. Either way I am at total "little monster" and more then likely will rock the shirt tomorrow (it's a half a day at work sooooooo why not?!).

I'm so excited for the long weekend. The boyfriend and I have a few things planned like a friend's birthday bbq party and a brewers festival. Does anybody else have any excited plans for the weekend?

Shirt: H&M
Skirt: Roxy
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell
Bag: Nine West
Sunglasses: No Name
Necklaces: (long necklace) Strawberrys, (rose) Lottie Blyth

I'm not sure whether the weather created this look or the fact that I wish I was cruising around the Caribbean. Either way my look today was very resort ready. My skirt is another one of those old pieces of clothing. I've had this Roxy skirt for a number of years now, probably since High School. For awhile there this skirt didn't really fit me and I'm so happy that it fits me again. I'm also wicked happy that the weather is allowing me to wear my sandals since I really do love my JCs.

HAPPY HUMP DAY!

Outfit Post: Stealing Gucci Spring 2011 Look

I have been in love with Gucci Spring 2011 campaign and lookbook. Every magazine and every editorial has that one look you know the one with the purple top, green pants, orange blazer, and gold belt. Yea this is the one:

As soon as I saw the green Elie Tahari skirt in Filenes Basement I had to have it! I first prayed to the clothes god to be in my size and to be in my price range. And WAHLA both were thankfully since I already had big plans for it. I knew exactly how I wanted to style it and I knew it was going to be very Gucci. I already have a bunch more outfit planned for this skirt and all have to do with color blocking. Here is the first look with my new Elie Tahari skirt.
