Yesterday I went on a mini shopping spree with my giftcards and money that I got for Christmas. Thank you family and work! I hit up the Alexander Wang store where I had the hardest time-- if you've been reading this blog for awhile you know I'm crazy obsessed with A. Wang and his bags. I've had my eye on the Rocco bag ever since it came out but since I had this money in my pocket since Christmas I had been seriously thinking of spending it all and then some on this bag or the Diego bag. I did however do some heavy investigation into both these bags before going to the A. Wang store I went to Barneys Coop to check them out and after feeling them I really had second thoughts. These bags are BEAUTIFUL but practicality seriously comes into play. These are HEAVY bags (which I guess is why the have such a big price tag). So with this in mind I still strolled into A. Wang and headed straight to the bags looking them all over picking each one up and testing them. I honestly came VERY close to buying the Black Angela Clutch bag....my problem is it isn't an every day bag and online kinda fakes you out-- it looks like it can zipper from the top side but it's more cylinder and really opens weird. It came down this bag and the Zest Hoodie Poncho. Which one would I use more? (since I loved both and did have a serious commitment problem...I almost bought both). But as usual it came down to being practical and use. I already know that I'm going to live in the hoodie. It's so comfy and has that lime green that I love. Can't lie though- I do sort of wish I bought both. WAH damn me and my practical thinking! I'm thinking that I can save on each of my paychecks and I still have some money left over I might have to go back and buy it *break down*
Anyway then went to Bloomingdales where I found a poncho-esqu t-shirt from DVF in the most perfect bubble gum pink shirt! Yes more brights! I tried it on and instant love! It felt so spring! You can see what I looked in both here and here (gotta love changing room photos!). O the shopping didn't just stop there then had to spend my Sephora gift card on some much needed make up (blush, eyeliner, and eye-shadow). Then Victoria Secrets was my last stop and as I thought VS would they pissed me off. First and foremost why do they they think everyone is a B cup and up! They have VERY limited bras in A cups (yes ladies and gentlemen I am a A cup and proud of it!). This trip reminded me why I hate bra shopping and why I dislike VS so much.

Inspirational Monday: Beanies
Is there anything I love more then beanies? Probably not. Beanies are my favorite winter accessory by far. Even though I need more of them in my life. They are totally comfortable and give any look a cool edgy effect.What can I say I'm a sucker for comfort...and hats. The slouchier the beanie the better it is (ie the All Saints Trek Beanie). With beanies you can pair them up with a total relaxed look or even a cute little dress.
Are you guys suckers for beanies too?

Chloe Pre-Fall 2012
Designer Clare Waight Keller of the line Chloe once again killed it in her Pre-Fall 2012 Collection. Straight cut lines, timeless and classic pieces, feminine, and versatile clothing. I can't express enough how much I love this collection. When looking through collections I always look for pieces that stand out and have a timeless effect to them. This especially holds true when looking for an investment piece, I want something that won't just die but something that will stand the test of time...and trends. Pieces in her collection that stood out the most to me were the pastel yellow over-sized blazer, red pants, the cigarette pants cut, fur vest, clean long white dress and the over-sized knit sweater. These pieces are not only stand the test of trends but also are completely versatile. As I get older and spend more days in the office then outside I often look for pieces that can go from the office to weekend wear. Take the over-sized red knit sweater: paired with a skinny pants and high heels you have your office ready look (ie the look Keller paired it with) but for a weekend wear you can pair the knit with skinny jeans or cut-offs. Okay okay the white long dress is a little harder to pull of for everyday wear but I believe every woman should have some grown up pieces in their closet. This dress can become a staple or your go to dress when you have a dressy event. The fun part about this dress is that it is a clean slate so you can play around with your accessories like switching out different belts and playing with jewelry: going from chunky pieces to feminine jewels. This collection is a great jump start to what I'm sure will be an amazing Fall 2012.

How to Wear Neons in the Winter
During September Fashion Week you couldn't flip through street style blogs without spotting someone like Miroslava Dum and Shiona Turini in bright neons. I'm sure many of us have put away our bright clothing in exchange of the winter darks, but with the neon trend you just might want to dig out that neon skirt.

Wearing neons during the winter is not as tricky as you might think. When wearing bright colors during the winter months you might want to tone it down a notch...so with that in mind pair up your neons with nude and neutral colors. A nude knitted sweater like the Romwe Puff Sleeve Top ($26.99) added with a neon bottom can give the whole look a winter feel do to it's chunkyness. Knitted sweaters are the essential winter piece that can pretty much go with anything. Sticking with the rule of dark accessories still with black tights and black booties. If you want to add pops of color play around with colorful small accessories like the TNA belt from Aritzia ($20...on sale in store). Doing a belt over a sweater and skirt can also help show off your shape by show casing your hips. There is no need to hide your figure in chunky knits!

Outfit Post: The Classic Look

What is more classic then Ann Taylor and J.Crew? Both companies are extremely classic and hard to top when they come to feminine adult preppy pieces. They fit into everyday life style and into your work wardrobe as well...who doesn't love versatility! When I crave a little prep in my step I turn to these two labels to give me preppiness that I need. This skirt was another pick up that I got while I was on a mini shopping binge at Ann Taylor (also another item that was on sale!). The pairing of this skirt and sweater just came naturally. A little bit a sparkle and a whole lot of color.
