Courtesy of Cameo Nouveau I was lucky enough to receive this beautiful Leopard Print Bangle. Not only is it pleated with 14kt gold and comes in a beautiful little gift box, but the leopard print band feels like fur! It's such a nice added detail, it was especially a surprise since online you can't totally tell what the leopard print band is made of.

Leopard print is one of my favorite prints and this bangle totally satisfied my craving for leopard print jewelry. This little bangle is total glam and adds a little something something to any outfit. As soon as this little guy arrived I knew I wanted to pair it up with some vibrant colors to really make the gold sparkle, also it helps that the bracelet is a light color and isn't to dark like a lot of leopard print pieces are.

I'm slowly building up my friendship bracelet collection, which I will share with you all shortly, but I can not wait to build up an arm full of bracelets and have this Cameo Nouveau leopard print bangle mingle with them. It's a great layering piece that I can also be seen paired up with a watch and more friendship bracelets. Friendship bracelet crazy? Maybe. Or you can pair it up with the Tribal Graphic Hand Beaded Bracelet or with Summer Wrap Bracelet in Turquoise. Options are endless -- much like their shop!

I guess you can say I'm gearing up towards the 4th of July with my "patriotic" look today. Blue top, shorts, and scarf with red shoes and white nails...Go fig. I didn't really think about it until now as I write this post. In all honesty, I just really wanted to wear my new Tommy Hilfiger shirt. I picked this shirt up while I was at the Gettysburg Outlets this weekend. O yea, for those of you who follow me on twitter I'm sure you realized I wasn't around, I was down in PA for my bf's friend wedding. We spent the weekend with his family and just hanging out. It was a nice escape from the busy city. We spent Friday at the Gettysburg Outlets where I picked up this shirt and another one from Tommy Hilfiger and two pairs of flare jeans for $10 each at PacSun! Score all the way around. Then I ended up spending some cash on new pair of running sneakers and gym gear. Which was deeply needed. It's nice to be back in the crazy busy city, maybe not so much being back at work. At least we have a three day weekend up ahead, which I'm totally looking forward too.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Jonelle Maira Jewelry

pictures of some of my favorite Jonelle Maria jewerly

If you are looking for creative and beautiful jewelry from an up and coming designer then don't look much further. Jonelle Maira is a jewelry designer from Rochester, NY who first started selling her jewelry under Poison Apple back in 2003. She has now relaunched her 19070s inspired with a Southwest Navajo twist jewelry line under her name Jonelle Maria.

Say Hello to Jonelle Maira-

1. Where are you from? I'm from Rochester, NY. A city way upstate an hour and a half away from Toronto, Canada. Although, I Spent the better part of the last decade living in NYC and plan to move back there.

2. How did you get started in making your own jewelry? And how long have you been designing jewelry for? I started making jewelry in the fall of 2003 under the name Poison Apple. I had always been good at creating things with my hands and had an interest in jewelry making early on as a kid and it just grew from there. One day I realized that I should start selling the pieces that I was creating and so I made a website and took the first steps towards achieving my dream. I just recently made the decision to change the name of the company to my own name and re-launched the website with this new name http://www.jonellemaira.com/

3. When did you start selling your own pieces? September 2003

4. Where do you find most of your inspiration? Each time I create a collection I take into consideration what the current trends are and I work with the silhouettes of what's currently trendy and then I incorporate whatever is currently inspiring me in terms of materials, colors, patterns etc. My latest pieces have been inspired by the southwest, the 70's, navajo and aztec prints and geometry. Inspiration can come from anywhere though, a magazine, a blog, a great jewelry part that i've sourced, a dream, a thought....etc.

5. What accessory designers do you admire and love? lizzie fortunado, Dannijo, Tom binns, Made her Think, Anna Sheffield

Each of her pieces is more creative and beautiful then the next. She also has a few Web Exclusives (which means once their gone their gone) so make sure to check out her Web Exclusive page to see what limited edition pieces of jewelry she has. I mean come on everyone wants a one of a kind piece of jewelry!

This skirt was another item that I picked up from Forever21! I see a lot of wear coming from this skirt, esp since I didn't get to wear the shoes today that I wanted too. I was going to pair this skirt up with my red Jeffrey Campbell espadrille sandals, but the threat of rain kept me from doing so. I don't want to mess those bad boys up. I went with the white and brown Aerosole wedges since they are a year old and I got them for super cheap last summer. I'm looking forward to doing some fun and funky pairings with this skirt.

Now I must go paint my nails since they are BADLY chipping!

Pastels with more pastels and nudes are my favorite. These jeans are my favorite thing in my draw right now. Okay, one of my favorite things in my draw right now. I wear these pretty much every week and never with the same thing. I'm also glad that I remembered that I had this bag. It was stored away with all my other random bags and scarves. I couldn't remember when I bought this bag, I knew I got it around Christmas one year since my uncle use to always get me a Coach gift card, but remembering when I actually got was tricky. Thankfully, I save receipts and lots of random pieces of paper in my bags that I came across a coupon for a McDonalds Hot Cocolate and it expired in 2009. So I bought this bag back in 2009. I still love the pastel purple and that it is big enough to hold books and magazines, which is fantastic since my iPod is broken and I need something to do on the train ride. I ended up in Barnes and Nobles today during lunch time, I picked up the Kelly Cutrone "Normal Gets You Nowhere" along with two writing books. I already starting digging into one of the writing books, I'm a total nerd and I'm okay with that!

Is there an article of clothing that you wear every week?

IFB Homework: Prized Possession

This is a cool new project started by IFB called IFB Homework. Each Friday IFB will give out an assignment and then we have till Tuesday at midnight to post it and send in a link. This is much like Fashion Beauty Friend Friday. Since I like to keep things in organized every Tuesday morning I will post my assignment.

Enough of the introduction to the new project and on to the assignment!!

IFB HOMEWORK: PRIZE POSSESSION THAT A FAMILY MEMBER GAVE US

Photobucket

Photobucket

My prized possession is the ring that my aunt left for me when she passed away from breast cancer. She had three stack-able sapphire and diamond incrusted gold rings, which she left for me, my cousin Jessica (since we are the only female cousins in the family), and her son. I'll never forget my uncle pulling my cousins and I aside at her wake to tell us that she wanted us to have these beautiful rings. I remember just balling my eyes out and promising myself that I would always and forever wear this ring. I loved her with all my heart and still to this day she is my role model. She was one hell of a strong woman physically (she ran the NYC Marathon) and mentally. She fought cancer for 10 years and fought it till the day she died. Everyday I wear this ring and every day it reminds me to be strong. This has become one of the pieces of jewelry that I wear everyday. In any outfit post you'll see me wearing my everyday jewelry which includes this ring, a relationship ring that my parents bought me, 2 bracelets (even though I have to take one to get the clasp fixed) my bf bought me, and another bracelet that my parents bought me. These are the things that I never take off unless I'm taking a shower or going to the beach. If I were to ever lose this ring I don't know what I would do with myself. It truly means everything to me.

I got lots of comments today on my outfit, good comments that is. One that was my favorite was from a co-worker today calling me Strawberry Shortcake. It totally made me giggle. I usually don't mix prints since I never think they look good on me, but last night when I was setting up my outfit for today I was feeling brave and D&G inspired. I've had this cherry shirt for a long time now, probably since high school or early college. I had this crazy obsession with cherries back in the day and I had bought this shirt in my cherry faze. I'm glad that I held on to this top. Fruit prints never go out of style. This skirt was one of my new buys from Forever21. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it

Are you guys brave enough to mix patterns?

Inspirational Monday: Gingham Pattern

D&G Spring 2011 collection is all about the girly feminine picnic look. But nothing screams out spring and picnics like the gingham pattern. As soon as I see this pattern all I can think about is Yogi Bear saying "Hey Booboo, how about a picnic basket?" I've always loved this pattern. A few summers back I bought a gingham pattern romper that I like to break out ever now and then. I'm waiting for the perfect summer day to break it out this year. This past Friday I picked up the perfect D&G inspired red gingham pattern skirt from Forever21. Today I am def. rocking it! And couldn't be more excited. Even though I wish I was out on a picnic instead of in my office.... Either way I love the retro feel of this pattern. I like the idea of pairing up a gingham crop top with high waist jeans to really give it a retro vibe.

The bf and I decided to spent the day walking around the city. We first started at Apple store on 14th street since my iPod decided to die on me. So so so sad. They thankfully were able to get me a replacement for only $59, but I have to wait for that to come in. WAH. Then we walked the High Line. It was both our first times walking it. For those of you who don't know the High Line is a little walk way park, it was an old subway rail that hasn't been used in years so they decided to turn it into a walk way park. This spring they just opened the second part of it along with an art installment (that is only open till August), there also is a little park, seating and food trucks which include Cool Haus (and ice cream sandwich truck), Eddie Pizza Truck, Kimichi Taco truck, along with a couple of others. Can I just say I'm in love with the Cool Haus Ice Cream Sandwich truck! I had the Red Velvet Cookie with Orea Hackam Ice Cream (coffee ice cream with Oreao chunks). It was amazing annnnd the paper wrap they give you is edible! Yes edible!! Anyway...It was def. a nice change and it's nice to see your city in a different way. After we stopped for lunch and ice cream we took a Blick Art trip to get some supplies that I need to do a couple of DIY projects! I can not wait to share with you guys what I have in mind!! We also went out to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant and got a drink at a local Tiki Bar. I love our neighborhood and my city. Lots of things to do and see for sure.

I hope you all are having a great weekend!!! And hope all your Father's have a Happy Father's Day!!
