It was such a beautiful day outside! To bad it was spent all day in an office. But at least we get out of work early on Friday to get a head start on the long weekend! I'm just hoping the wonderful weather holds out. The boyfriend and I plan on hitting up the beach this Saturday and on Sunday we are having a picnic with one of my friends and her bf to watch the 4th of July Fireworks. I'm pretty excited about this weekend! Lots of sun and relaxing. Although we need to figure out what we are bringing to the picnic! Hmmm time to get creative. Any ideas? Any picnic foods you guys really enjoy???

Inspirational Tuesday: Oxfords

Sorry guys. I didn't post anything yesterday. I have been pretty busy with tyring to search for apts. It's basically like having a second job! BLEH!

But today I have brought you my inspiration for the day: Oxfords. I'm really loving oxfords. I just like how they go with almost everything. They give an outfit character and a little bit of casualness. They can be paired up with anything from a dress to harem pants.

Oxfords
Outfits from left to right: 1. Sessun V-neck Floral Dress: $208 - stevenalan.com; Forever21 Vintage Oxfords: $25 - forever21.com; Lily Leather Shoulder Bag: $650 - net-a-porter.com; 2. Clu T-shirt: $140 - farfetch.com; Silk Waffle Harem Pants: $844 - net-a-porter.com; Rebecca Minkoff Trust Shoulder Bag: $295 - endless.com; Jeffery Campbell Hurache Oxfords: $128 - urbanoutfitters.com; 3. Lauren Tank: $250 - calypso-celle.com; Maurie&Eve White Ripped Demin Pocket Shorts: $165 - bunnyhug.co.uk; Rebecca Minkoff Pointy Stud Rocker Shoulder Bag: $330 - endless.com; Joan & David Collection Women's Zena Jazz Oxford: $181 - endless.com; 4. Silk Chiffron Tunic: $760 - net-a-porter.com; Quilted Leather Hobo Bag: $1,095 - net-a-porter.com; Stuart Weitzman Women's Manoman Oxford: $335 - endless.com
I definitely dig the Forever21 oxfords. They are so cute and have the old fashion oxford looks to them. I also like the Stuart Weitzman oxford shoe because it's sort of like a sandal which are perfect for those hot summer days. Oxfords are great to wear from spring to fall. They are easy enough to slip on and go for those summer days where flip flops are just not appropriate or aren't cutting it and those days during the fall where it's not warm enough to wear sandals. Oxfords are also great for the casual look for the office and are perfect for a outdoor concert.
What do you guys think of oxfords?

Shorts: H&M
Bag: H&M

I was feeling pretty mellow yellow today. HAHA. Forgot to take pictures with my new flip flops from Target :(

This past weekend has been crazy busy. My boyfriend and I saw 3 apartments yesterday and went to Target. Today we saw a couple apartments in a brand new condo building and did laundry. I'll tell you what apartment shopping is hard work. Tomorrow we have another viewing on an apartment after work.

I'm so pooped! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

British Love

I have been listening to a lot of British female singers lately, mostly Pixie Lott and Little Boots (who are probably my girl crushes recently). For these past couple of weeks Pixie Lott has been playing non-stop on my iPod. I love that she's a little blond girl and she def. does not sound like one. She's absolutely beautiful and talented. Of course, I still throw in the mix of Kate Nash, Lily Allen, and Adele (who by far, I think, has the most amazing female vocals). I love all these girls for their music and of course their fashion.

Shirt: my mom's old shirt
Dress: Roxy
Sandals: Urban Outfitters
Bag: H&M

I'm truly in love with this bag. This was my recent purchase from H&M! It was only $10!!! They are having a MEGA sale and everything ranges from $10 to $20! How could you not find something that you just love? I've also had this Roxy dress for a very long time and it's always the best thing to wear during a really hot day. It's so light and airy. It's also a tube top so not very work appropriate but with an easy fix like throwing an old cut off top and tie it up it's no problem.

Tomorrow is Friday thank god!! My boyfriend and I are looking to move out of our apt so we are going apt hunting this weekend. So far we have one apt viewing and a possible one lined up on Saturday. Very excited!

Does anyone have any great plans for the weekend??

Steal the Look for Less: Marisa Miller

Sexy swimsuit model Marisa Miller was seen at a LA party in a Alica + Olivia dress (picture below).
This pale/blush dress looks studding on her. It's the perfect night out dress for the summer: pale, short, and simple. Her peep satin toe shoes pull the whole look together.

In order to get this look pick a corset top dress that doesn't flow into one piece, try a dress that looks like separates. The Alice + Olivia dress is a two toned dress and is made to look like a top with a skirt. Here are a couple of dress ideas:

Steal the Look for Less: Marisa Miller

Outfits from left to right: 1. Corset Pick Me-Up Dress: $99 - ardenb.com; Guess- Hondo Peep Toe Pump: $90 - endless.com; 2. Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Dress: $62 - modcloth.com; Seychellas- Lauren Peep Toe Pump: $90 - amazon.com; 3. Buzzworthy Frock: $62 - modcloth.com; Cheryl Cole Peep Toe Shoe: $42 - asos.com
The middle dress, Modcloth.com, is definitely made to look like a top and skirt. It also has straps for the girls that are worried their dresses will fall down or the bustier girls (even though Miller is pulling of the corset top just fine there). The other two (ArdenB and Modcloth.com) both have a corset top. Although the first and last dress have black in them they do have their lighter tones. If you want to keep your dress light and airy try pairing them up with nude or white peep toe shoes. For a more fun look try a peep toe that stands out like the Seychellas peep toe.
You can also try actually doing two separates. Pair up a corset top with a high waisted skirt.

Corset Top with Skirts
Outfits from left to right: 1. Crop Bustier By Richard Nicoll: $80 - topshop.com; Mesh Sheer Skirt: $65 - topshop.com; 2. Floral Bow Crop Top by Rare**: $52 - topshop.com; Forever21 Skirt: $23 - forever21.com

With this you have the choice to choose from what color top you want to what color bottom you want. For a fun summer look you can do a floral printed top with a bright skirt, like look 2 above. Or you can stick with neutral colors like in the first look above. Even some of us already have these in our closet why not try pairin the two up together.

Remember stick to what you're comfortable with. If you are concerned with a top that might fall down or something you'll be pulling up all night then stick with something that has straps. Or if you're not sure what kind of top you want to wear, strapless or not, then get something that has the option of wearing it both ways.

Skirt worn as a dress: Wet Seals
Vest: H&M
Sandals: Aerosoles
Bangles: Charlotte Russe

Yes I turned my old skirt into a dress which worked out great. I wore my little H&M vest over it to make it more work appropriate. The only problem with this dress/skirt is that it's a little flimsy and the slightest bit of breezy would blow it up, so I basically had to hold it down while I walked.

I ended up going to H&M during lunch which was a little mistake. Who knew they are having their summer sale! Everything is basically from $10 to $20. I bought pants, a bag, and a shirt which all came out to $35! Amazing! I'm such a bargin hunter. Also I plan on hitting up the Vivienne Westwood Sample Sale tomorrow.

Every girl needs a sun dress. A cute simple floral dress for the summer is perfect for a picnic or a walk in the park. It's even a great beach dress. A simple tunic for those hot summer days where you don't feel like wearing a lot of clothing. Also, another great simple wear to the beach. The perfect bathing suit for you. No matter what your body type is or what bathing suit you wear. Whatever feels sexiest on you is a must for the beach, pool, and/or lake. Lace tank tops which you can wear with a bathing suit top underneath or a cute bandeau. Every girl needs the classic jean shorts. Doesn't matter what kind they are a must have for summer. They are something that will never go out of style! Rompers and jumpers are a must because they are just as easy as dresses and tunics. Another classic must have are flip flops. Wedges are totally in for the summer. Go with a beige/brown wedge sandal this summer. Wooden accessories like wooden bangles to give your summer look a more earthly look. Also, chunky rings but leave the jewelry at home when going swimming! Also a fun necklace like the Garden Gazebo Pendant from modcloth.com and a pastel jewelry like the BCBGMAXAZRIA watch. For the beach or picnic you need a classic tote bag to carry all the esstentials. The perfect bag for the day or night is a little shoulder bag to carry around your wallet, keys, and lip gloss. Minimal for summer is always perfect. Of course pastel nails. And last but not least over sized sunglasses!
What are your summer must haves?
