H&M Spring 2011 Lookbook

Photos from Red Carpet Fashion Awards

I've never been so excited for Spring. I mean besides after seeing all the collecions for Spring 2011 after the Fashion Weeks BUT this is affordable! I'm in love with sleek white pants, suede and leather shorts, and the long maxi skirt! Also that last jacket with what looks like "leather" pockets! Plus the shoes are super sweet, eps. the black ones that look like flared collars.

What do you guys thing?

Outfit Post

Dress: New York and Company
Belt: H&M
Necklace: Forever21
Boots: Urban Outfitters
Tights: no name

I love this dress. It's such a simple black dress and it's perfect for dressing up or dressing down. Also loving my colorful tights. They are a great addition to my collection of tights that I have accumulated and have taken over my sock draw. My outfit today was my inspiration to my blog post Inspirational Monday: Pops of Color.....What I really need to do though is take my boots in to get cleaned.

I can't be more sad that my vacation is over and it was back to work today.....now how many days till the Christmas break?

Inspirational Monday: Pops of Color

During the winter I always tend to lean towards darker colors...mostly blacks. This winter I have decided to throw in some color in the mist of my blacks. I love accessories and tights and they work well for sprucing up an outfit. Today I went with green tights (maybe it's because I'm feeling the Christmas spirit) and my leopard print belt from H&M. I think pairing up bold colors with fun prints makes any outfit more exciting. My outfit today has really inspired me to look at the way we can change up our ordinary black outfits with exciting bold colors and prints. These are accessories that most of us have in our closet and draws. Also these items also don't have to cost you an arm and a leg.

Color up your blacks

As far as tights go I tend to usually buy no names or buy H&M. Tights, even the more expensive ones, never tend to last long enough for me. I go tight crazy during the fall/winter months. Black tights, color tights, tights with patterns, etc.! They are so simple and really make a difference. They had a nice little surprise.

Another fun accessory during the fall/winter months are scarfs. I love buying the pasmina scarves off the street vendors. How could you go wrong for $5? You can get them in so many different colors and patterns. The are perfect for keeping warm, for wearing them around in the office, and to also use a shawl! So many uses in one little thing.

Then there is the classic cardigan. I love bright and playful cardigans. One of my favorite cardigans is my purple cardigan from H&M that I bought a year or so ago. I love pairing it up with my darks, whites, and even leopard print tops and dresses. I seriously love the purple and leopard print combo. Anyway cardigans are perfect for keeping warm and are so basic to any outfit. They really are a stable piece that you don't have to spend a lot on, like the green basic knit cardigan from Forever21 ($13).

Add a little pop to your step by stepping out in bold color pumps. Lately I've seen a lot of suede red pumps and suede blue pumps and I simply adore all of it.

It's a great eye catcher. If you don't want to spend a lot on your shoes look to places like Forever21 and Charlotte Russe for fun colored pumps. I'm head over heels in love with Chic Leatherette Stilettos in yellow from Forever21 and they are only $15.50!

Purses are another great eye catching accessory. Like this woman's blue Celine eye catching purse. (Ignore her fantastic legs and wedges LOOK AT THAT PURSE!)

These Topshop Small Chain Handle Box Bag ($70) are the perfect pop of color. They aren't bright but they do make a statement especially against a black palette. The gold chain to the bag is also a nice little flare.

Jewelry...the more the better. Overlaying your necklaces give a nice depth to any outfit. Layer pearls and chain necklaces to mix up different textures. Colored necklaces really will pop against a black top. Add some color bling like flowered ring like the Coral plastic flower ring from Dorthy Perkins ($11) or Marc by Marc Jacobs Bangle bracelet ($69) but that's only if your willing to splurge a little.

Belts are great to use to break up a sea of black. Using colored belts or pattern belts can really transform your outfit. It can take your dress from plain black to bold...or to dressy to casual or vise versa depending on the type of belt and material.

Just don't use every color that you own all at once. You don't want to be overwhelmed by color you just want to give your outfit a BOOST.
Thanks to these lovely ladies for inspiring me and thank you green tights!

Dear Santa......

Those of us who celebrate Christmas all know that we have our real Christmas list and then the wish list for Santa. (I know that even those of us who don't celebrate Christmas have a wish list too.) The real Christmas list is what we write for our parents, boyfriend/girlfriend, family members, or who ever else will take a Christmas list from us. Then there's the wish list that we make either in our head, on our blog, or actually written down that we secretly wish Santa will hear/read. I know for myself that these are items that are either way out of reach or items that I want but don't want to ask for, these items are more in reach then something like an Alexander Wang bag or a Chanel bag. These items are more likely a dream list then even a wish list. Items like Jeffery Campbell Lita's shoes are more in reach but they are something I can't seem to ask for. It's like as I get older I start to try and reason with my Christmas list. This year it came down to shoes or a gym membership. And let's be honest here I don't really NEED new shoes even if they are Jeffrey Campbell's but what I do NEED is a gym membership, especially since the gym by me is not really within reasonable pricing but it is a gym that I would use ALL the time and would feel guilty about not going to since it's literally right up the block from me. So reason and NEED out won the want. Sure I could have asked the bf for them but I really didn't want him to spend over $100 on shoes for me. I feel like these are pieces that I can buy for myself, these are items I can treat myself to (which I probably will with the Christmas money from my family).

Anyway....Santa here is my wish list this year...
Dear Santa
Dear Santa by poetofsorts featuring high heels shoes

Items from left to right: 1. Zara Studio Wool Cape: $169 zara.com; 2. Chloe Trousers: $845 matchesfashion.com; D&G Alpaca-blend Fair Isle sweater: $440 net-a-porter.com; Prada Patent Leather Loafer Pump: $850 barneys.com; Directions in Lace Maxi Slip: $148 freepeople.com; Marc by Marc Jacobs Hillier Hobo leather bag: $395 net-a-porter.com; Jeffrey Campbell Lita: $160 solestruck.com; Chanel; Alexander Wang Rocco Mini Duffel: $875 ssense.com

As you can see I have a bag and shoe problem. Alexander Wang, Chanel, and Marc Jacobs will always be the bags that I lust over. There is this woman who works in my building that has that Alexander Wang bag and every time I see her I die a little and wonder what the hell she does for a living! Also in New York City you can't travel without seeing a woman carrying a Marc Jacobs bag it's another stab in the heart. And forever and ever I will always lust over the classic quilted chain Chanel bags until I can afford to buy one. They are so timeless and are the perfect stable piece. One day I will own a Chanel Bag.

I'm in love with Chloe clothing and accessories. I love the fine lines and tailored looks of all of Chloe's collections. These looks are grown up and feminine. These pants are perfect from the color to the belt.

I love the Fall 2010 D&G collection. I love the ski resort look and feel. Yes places like H&M and Zara have stolen the look of D&G and made their own reindeer sweaters and so have a lot of other places that wouldn't cost you $400 for a sweater. But who wouldn't want something Dolce and Gabbana? I mean after all this is a wish list.

As soon as I saw Prada's Fall 2010 collection it was love. I drooled over the loafer pumps. I think it's the perfect twist on a classic piece ad Prada did a fantastic job on it. These shoes are ideal for work AND play. They are also another timeless piece.

Zara, Free People, and the Jeffery Campbell's I know are more reasonable then anything else on this list. All three are on this list for a reason....I'm obsessed with maxi dresses and skirts. I love the laced look of the Free People's maxi skirt. It's the boho chicness that I love. I'm obsessed with cape coats but still haven't managed to buy myself one yet. Cape coats are just so perfect for layering. This Zara cape coat is just effortless. Jeffrey Campbell...what more can I say. Especially these powder pink ones. They are the perfect pop for the winter months.

Another thing that wasn't added to the list is Miss Unkon pieces. I couldn't find her pieces on Polyvore but I'm in love with her work. Especially these pieces:

Of My Dreams Cape

If you haven't heard of this Australian designer you should check her out. Her pieces are so romantic and very fantasy princess like. All of her work is delicate and feminine. You can check out her blog here: missunkon.blogspot.com/ and her website here: missunkon.com.

So how bout it Santa? I promise I've been a good girl this year! I ate all my veggies, paid my bills on time, and did everything else good girls are suppose to do!! Now I hope you break into my apartment and drop off all these goodies ;)

What is on your wish list?

Home Christmas Decorations

Christmas has exploded in our apartment. We spent the afternoon rearrange our bedroom and making room in our living room to be able to put up our Christmas tree. We decorated the tree and our living living room! We still have blue lights that we have to put up but we aren't sure how we are going to do that just yet. I also want to check out this store near by that has Christmas decorations because I love Christmas. This is my favorite time of year. I can not wait for the boy and I to bake our Christmas cookies!

Just thought I'd share some home decorating that my boyfriend and I did this afternoon.

Our lovely Christmas tree and brick wall!We put the little bells that we have on our selves that's above our TV. Next to our TV we put our reindeer candle holders and put our Santa hats on our TV.
We trimmed the doorway of our kitchen with garland and hung our bell reef right in the middle. The garland trimming was my idea....the reef was the boys idea. Here is the view from the kitchen.

We spent the first half of the day doing a little shopping. I got his grandparents their Christmas gift and I got myself an awesome Ben Sherman blazer from Daffy's AND I got a bunch of Christmas gel clings for our windows (only $1 at Target!). I'm doing my major Christmas shopping next Saturday since the bf has to work.

Now time to relaxing and watch Get Him to the Greek.

Hope everyone had a great day!

[PS] Toni at ssssht.blogspot.com has started this lovely featured called Blogloving Friday. She reaches out to other fashion bloggers and asks them a question which she will post on Friday. Outfit Post

Dress: Macys
Tights: The Gap
Bag: Aldo
Shoes: Isabel Toledo for Payless
Scarf: NYC street vendor (no name)

My boyfriend and I were in PA this weekend for his friend's wedding. We headed down there Thursday night even though the wedding wasn't till Sunday but we both figured it would be a long weekend so why not give ourselves a day off. Friday was spent watching Harry Potter going to Sonic and doing some Christmas shopping. It was really a perfect relaxing Friday. PS if you love Harry Potter as much as me and haven't seen the new movie yet GO NOW! It's def. a great start to the 2 parter. I can not wait for the second part. Anyway, this is what I wore to the wedding on Saturday. The wedding ceremony was beautiful. It was in Harrisburg, PA at a Roman Catholic Church and it was a very traditional Catholic wedding. The brides dress was a beautiful simple crisp white dress and she wore a crisp sharp lined cropped blazer. It was very beautiful. The reception of course was a great time. It was nice spending time with my boyfriend's friends from High School (who I've only met one time before this). Now we have two more weddings already coming up in the new year. It's so crazy that we are really growing up and everyone is getting married.

Anyway I'm exhausted! I hope everyone is had a great weekend!!

Bambi for Style Stalker by Zanita Whittington

photos from fashiongonevogue.com

Okay yes I'm aware everyone has been posting these photos but I can't get enough of Bambi, or Style Stalker OR Zanita's work. Everything is fantastic. I love Bambi because she is so unique and she def. pulls of the motorcycle chick look. I mean her eyebrows are pretty bad ass (I still wish as a kid someone told me my big eyebrows were sexy!). I'm also in LOVE with that first dress. *sigh* What do you guys think?
I hope everyone has a great weekend, I'll be away for the next few days! Don't miss me too much!
