Inspiration Monday: Menwear Inspired Pieces

I'm totally feeling the men inspired pieces for the fall. Wheather it's taking a bow and tieing around the neck line of a collared shirt or wearing a men's inspired blazer I'm digging into it. Today I wore my striped blouse from H&M and took a ribbon (that probably belongs to some skirt I blought) and tied it like a lose bow around the neck line and tucked it under the collar, I paired it up with straight leg high waisted pants and my Zara high heels. I love mixing these masculine pieces with some feminine touches.

The fall 2010 runway was full of men inspired pieces that wear tocuhed up with femininity.

Chloe

Alexander Wang

Alexander Wang took the classic men's buisness suit and made it sexy for woman. Not totally work safe but definately feminine.

Rag & Bone

Marcus Wainwright and David Neville took the classic tailored shirt, men's inspired vest, and blazer and played up the feminity with skirts, knee high socks, and heels. I love the suddelness of the men's wear in their collection.

I created a set inspired by these fall lines.

I love how work apporiate this look is. I'm always looking for something that I can wear at work and out of work. I also look for a chic way to dress up for work. I hate the simple stuff sometimes. I want to take a different approch to wearing dress pants and t-shirt. And I think these menwear inspiration really spices things up a bit.

What do you guys things of mens wear inspired pieces?

  2. I love the Rag & Bone and Chloe collections.
The Alexander Wang collection is not really my style. It's a little bit too gothic-like for me.

But I really like your blog! I'm your follower now.
