Dress: Madewell | Shoes: J.Crew (old, similar style) | Bag: Coach (old) | Sunglasses: Loft

Spring, Summer, and Fall are my favorite seasons. We got super lucky this winter season as it was a really mild one. The transition into Spring was a pretty easy one even though some days have been warmer then others. With the temperatures reaching 70s some days (70s back into 50s is just a total tease) I have been in the mood for some Spring dresses. As much as I love total day dresses I also wanted a dress that I could wear all the time: weekday and weekend. This Madewell dress had just that, it has an ease to it that can be dressed up with a pair of heels for work (as seen above) or dressed down with some sneaks for a weekend look. Plus this 100% cotton jean material is super soft and lightweight so it can easily be taking from Spring to Summer.

What are you craving this Spring?

Here are some other Spring dresses that I'm currently eyeing:

swimwear: c/o target (top and bottom | onepiece

This past week was "Spring Break"...though I haven't had a Spring Break in 8 years I couldn't help but to start thinking about summer and swimsuit season. These pictures were taken in part of Target #NOFOMO campaign (you can read about it on my instagram), but I wanted to repost this since I can not wait to actually wear these swimsuits this Summer.  I haven't worn a one piece in YEARS. But the palm leaf print (get it here) totally spoke to me. I'm loving that the one piece has been updated with lower backs and cut outs (like this one and also this!). As far as bikini's go I've been more into the sporty looking tops (love this Free People top) and higher waisted bottoms (like these). Though I we don't have any beach vacations planned, I can not wait to spend my summer weekends at Rockaway Beach and hitting up my favorite spot, Rockaway Surf Club.

Shirt: Anthropologie (old similar style here) | Jeans: Madewell | Shoes: Steve Madden | Bag: Topshop
Necklace: Forever21 (old similar style here and here) | Sunglasses: Feathers Boutique

I was hoping that this weekend would have been a little warmer. I've been spoiled with the random high 60s into 70 degree weather. But at last it wasn't...but for Easter I wanted to bring in some sort of Spring feeling into my look. So I broke out my soft chambray flutter top from Anthropologie and leopard print flats for Easter lunch with the family.

How was your weekend?

Style Guide: What's Old is New Again

 photo OldNew3_zpsxnyaq5zg.png

I think there's a lot of pressure on fashion bloggers to have the newest clothes...and sometimes the most expensive trending pieces. For me I'm not the girl to go out and buy the Chloe Drew Bag or not re-wear or re-photograph certain items. For me fashion is all about having items in your closet that you can re-wear and re-work. Here on FNYG you'll see jeans (like these Forever21 jeans) reworn, sweaters worn to death, and shoes on repeat. It's all about switching up accessories and knowing how to rework a look.

Jacket: William Rast | Sweater: H&M | Jeans: Forever21 | Shoes: Zara | Bag: Coach | Hat: Urban Outfitters
Sunglasses: Call It Spring

Use accessories to help restyle an old piece. I've had this H&M sweater (similar style here) for years but worn with a bandana it gives a whole new feel, especially as bandanas are back in style (and are cheap to buy). Hats and sunglasses are my weakness, but simple little pieces can make a difference in a whole look. Buy classic prints. Stripes and polka dots will never go out of style. Sweaters and shirts in these prints can be worn multiple ways. Pair with a pair of ripped jeans for a downtown cool girl look, or mix prints with a different printed skirt. Sometimes a handbag that is simple and neutral is best. We all want the statement piece but sometimes the best bags are ones that can go with any look. I love my little Coach bag that I've had for sometime now, as it can easily be thrown into rotation and mixed with my looks.

How do you make old pieces new again?

Shirt: Kate Spade (on sale!) | Jeans: Madewell | Shoes: J.Crew | Sunglasses: Call It Spring | Bag: Coach

If there's a designer that I would wear all of the time it would easily be Kate Spade. Feminine and fun...what more could a girl ask for? That's why every time there is a surprise sale I can't help but score something, like this top. I'm currently eyeing this bag in tulip pink.

What designer would you wear all the time if you could?
