Outfit Post: In Everything Give Thanks

 photo Thanksgiving5_zpsfrnutwpf.png

This year I have a lot to be thankful for. The biggest thing I'm thankful for is the little bean that I'm growing inside of me. I can not begin to tell you the joy in my heart that I already feel for this little boy. I feel very blessed to have a loving and caring husband as well as a network of supportive and loving friends and family. As well as a those who connect with me through this blog. Even though I feel a bit crazed right now with my graduate school coming to an end (trying to finish my Capstone and other projects) and prepping for Baby C, I still can't help but feel very thankful and lucky for where I am right now.

It's been super cold here in NYC and my body is in shock. Nothing like coming back from 80 degree weather to 30 degree weather. And since now it feels more like winter than it does fall all I want is hot coco. Also might be Baby C talking as well. So on Saturday before we hit up Buy Buy Baby I made the husband make a mandatory pit stop at Colson Pastries for some hot coco. It was exactly what I had been craving all week. Nothing like a cozy oversized knit and hot coco on a cold Saturday.

Dress: c/o Tobi  | Shoes: Soludos | Bag: Kate Spade | Sunglasses: Feathers Boutique

I've always been a creature of comfort, but being pregnant now has really shown me how important it is to feel comfortable in clothes. I had finally gave in to buy my first pairs of maternity jeans because my regular jeans just weren't cutting. I have also been opting to wear more dresses, and thanks to Mother Nature for allowing the weather for me to continue to do. Though this Tobi dress isn't a maternity dress, it works perfectly for preggos and non-preggos. It's super light weight, which is great with the unusually high temperatures, and super soft. I can't wait for it to get a little cooler so that I can pair it with a pair of over the knee boots or a pair of booties. I'm actually thinking about buy this dress in black as well.

A Little Surprise and Fall Feelings

 photo pumpkin_zpstnfellwl.png

If you follow me on Instagram (@fashionistanygirl) then you saw my a little announcement last week...but the husband and I are expecting our first baby! He'll be arriving in late March! We are so excited to share our journey to parenthood. Even just 15 weeks, this process has been so crazy and beautiful. It's amazing to see how small these little beings start out and then you have this little human at the end. Even the transformation between our first sonogram to our second was just so cool. There's no other way of putting this, it's just cool. I've been very lucky, no morning sickness. There were days in my 1st trimester where I felt totally wiped out. Especially on the weekends. It's great to have a husband that is content with staying home catching up on TV and movies and taking naps. I've  also been lucky enough to keep up my workout routine. Though I can tell the difference with my cardio level, for someone who is active I must say at times it's a little frustrating getting winded and tired quickly. But I've been learning to take a breaks and breaths when needed. I'm also very lucky to have trainers who care about me and help me perform at my best.

Last weekend the husband and I took the bump to go pumpkin picking, eat apple cider donuts and enjoy some hot apple cider in Yorkville. Then we headed up to Cold Springs to enjoy brunch and walk around the town. I can't wait for next fall when we have our little boy to go pumpkin picking with and enjoy all the fall things...especially Boo at the Zoo.

Style Guide: September Fall Transition

September is a tricky month when it comes to weather and clothes. In the mornings and evenings the weather is crisper and the afternoons are warmer. When it comes to transitioning into the cool weather there are key pieces that I turn to in my wardrobe, which are my Zara 3/4 sleeve leather jacket and my velvet ballerina flats from Jessica Buurman. These pieces can take a summer dress, like my J.Crew dress pictured above, through a fall transition.

How do you transition into fall?

Fall Trends: Knit Season

 photo knit season1_zpscie6lv1w.png

Cooler weather has entered New York City, which means knit season has begun. There is nothing like a cozy knit with a side of pumpkin spice latte on crisp mornings. This season it's all about the chunky knits and bell sleeves. You can find these designs from super high end to fashion steals. I'm in love with the Maggie Marilyn pink bell sleeve sweater, but def. opting for the Miss Selfridge white balloon sleeve sweater or even the Anthropologie bell sleeve.

What sweater style are you craving this knit season?
