Inspirational Monday: New York Fashion Week
NY Fashion Week by poetofsorts on Polyvore.com
New York Fashion Week starts this week and I couldn't be more excited. This means lots of events, great street fashion, and even my first Fashion Week Show. I'm so interested in seeing how everyone will be dressed for this crazy weather we've been having here. I am sad that fashion week is no longer in Bryant Park since now I work so close by. I would love to take a stroll during lunch time just to check out what people are wearing, but sadly Lincolin Square to a little to far from my office and lunch time isn't long enough. Good thing is that I will be hitting up some fashion week events and a NYFW show. Sadly due to work I will not be able to attend the IFB conference. I was really hoping this week I could get to it but once again work gets in the way of all the fun.
I am also defiantly looking forward to the grand opening of Alexander Wang's first store in SoHo. Which will open during NY Fashion Week, February 17th. Which means I'll have to try and survive the massive craziness that I'm sure that will ensue.
Anyway, some the designers that I look forward to seeing their Fall 2011 collection are: Derek Lam, Adam, Anna Sui, and L.A.M.B (and plenty more). One day I'll be able to see their collection in person.
Any designers you are looking forward to seeing?

DIY Chic Nail Prints
Sephora by OPI has created pre-cut design strips for your nails. It's a take on minx nails. These strips are said to last up to two weeks. Each of these packs come with 16 pre cut strips and will cost you $15. Sally Hansen also has their own pre-cut design strips called Salon Effects.
On Friday I bought both Sephora by OPI and Sally Hansen. I decided to give Sephora the test drive first.
Things that you will need:
Nail polish remover, nail filer, and nail clippers (I think nail clippers were easier to use then scissors to cut the strips)
Make sure to file your nails and to remove all nail polish and residue from your nails with nail polish remover.
Rub each strip and then peel to fit onto your nails. Then use the nail filer to file away the access strip.
The finished product:
Okay well they def. aren't perfect but this was attempt number one.
I'm not sure how these last for 2 weeks, it feels sort of weird at first sort of like if you have tape stuck to your nail. Anyway, I think the Sally Hensen ones might fit better on my nails since they have more of a bottom piece then the Sephora ones. We'll see and I will post the Sally Hensen ones as well.
My Sally Hensen Salon Effects:
Would you guys try doing the pre-cut strips yourself?

I think I died and went to creme color heaven. This collection is made up of whites, cremes, and light blush tones. Nothing but romance in this collection! I'm absoulety in love with the blush pink bustier. It is so fairy princess like and I can see it being paired with maxi skirts, jeans, and shorts. Also those scallop creme shorts are pretty amazing. I can not wait for this line to come out. I'm so pumped to check it out.
What do you guys think?
