I seriously couldn't ask for a better honeymoon. It started with a easy plane ride, rum punch, and a helicopter ride. Once we got to the resort (we stayed at the Sandals Grande) we were on total vacation mode. It was 10 days of much needed relaxation, drinking, and non-stop eating. We did a few excursions on the island including visiting the sulfate springs for a little mud bath and a sunset cruise where we partied in the middle of the Caribbean Sea. It was hard to say good-bye to this beautiful island and people.

If you follow me on Instagram you've seen a whole bunch of pictures already from my bachelorette trip to Miami (#sorrynotsorry about that...my Maid of Honor and Best Man came up with a scavenger hunt that my fiance and I had to work as a team to take pictures of the things on the list! Adorable right!? Plus it really force us to take pictures which is even better). This weekend was truly special. My Maid of Honor put together a itinerary (yes a legit itinerary) of things to do from going to a Cabaret to a 4 am diner run. She is the best MOH as well as party planner. This whole weekend flew by even though all I wanted it to do was go slower. I can't believe we are a little less then a month away from the wedding. Time needs to slow down from here till after the honeymoon.

photos taken both by me and Ariel

Man, it's funny how you look forward to something for months then it flies by. I can't believe the weekend went so fast. It's like I blinked my eyes and I was back on a plane to NYC. The trip was a the perfect little get away from the city and work that I needed. I got incredibly lucky with the weather in Chicago over the weekend. It was so perfect. My best friend Ariel had a couple of surprises for me on Friday which included a boat tour on the lake of downtown Chicago then later on a day was a yummy yummy chocolate tour which included Glazed and Infused, MORE, and Vosges. So many yummy treats!! We also hit up the BHLDN store. Which I have been dyeing to go till since I booked this trip in April. By the way, if you don't follow me on instagram, I stalked BHLDN bride & groom riding around the city promoting their Pop Up Shop in NYC (which is happening this week!) last Wednesday and won a $200 gift card!! What total blessed luck! I ended up buying my beautiful headband that I have been eyeing forever. I wish I could share the photos with me and the headband but I don't want my fiancee to see it. I wish there was a BHLDN here in the city. The girls that worked there were SUPER sweet. Anyway, then we had a much needed girls night at her friend's place which including deep dish pizza, cupcakes from MORE, and facials. Saturday we totally chilled went to a yummy brunch spot then sat out on the lake for a bit. Sunday before I left I ended up running around with her to cheer on her friend, Kara, at the Chicago Marathon. It was a neat way to see parts of Chicago I probably would never get to see. I do need to get out to Chicago during the summer, the lake is so beautiful! And their beaches are so beautiful. The last and only time I was out there was in January where the City was covered in snow so I didn't get to see how beautiful their lake front really was. She's really lucky to live so close to the lake. Hopefully I'll get back out there soon.

How was your weekend?

There are some places that will take your breathe away. There are moments in life that will literally leave you speechless. There are times when you realize that some of life problems aren't as big as they can possibly be. Hawaii was the most beautiful and eye opening places I have ever been. There aren't many places where I can say I can see myself moving too. There are cities that I love and would visit again, but without a doubt I could pack my bags today and leave NYC behind for Hawaii. Every direction that you looked it was natural beauty. I was lucky enough to have visit the island of Oahu where we traveled the island and stumbled upon some gems like the waterfall at Waimea Valley. I can't think of a more special place to have the most wonderful thing ever happen to me. The most loving genuine man in my life proposed to be during the sunrise at Hanauma Bay on our very first full day there. There will be more of that story when I post some of the engament photos that his sister bought us while we there. Anyway, being in Hawaii made me feel so small and made me remember that we are a small piece in this big universe. That even when I feel at my worst life can be much harder.
