Outfit Post: Back from Vacay Blues
I might be back, but I'm def. not back in the New York groove. When I got back to the city the weather wasn't so great...so I tried as much as I could to keep up the tropical feeling as much as possible. Which meant throwing on my Hawaiian shirt from Honolua Surf Co. and tropical print pants. Thankfully the weather is starting to become more like summer...finally.

Weekend Wear: Chocolate Bunnies and Easter Dresses
When I was kid my mom use to dress me in little Easter dresses. We'd go to church then have Easter dinner #1 at my grandma's and then Easter dinner #2 at my aunts. My cousin and I would split hard boil eggs (he ate the white and I ate the yokes). Then I'd go home and chow down on my chocolate bunnies. There are somethings I still look forward to on Easter: 1. hollow chocolate bunnies 2. Easter dresses. This past Sunday was perfect weather. More like summer then it was Spring. And I couldn't have been more thrilled since I got to breakout this dress from Zara. Perfectly ruffled and perfectly tented.
Hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

Outfit Post: Living Well
There are days when I realize that I can be walking billboard for a brand. This was one of those days. Madewell top, jeans, and trench (not pictured). I love brands that make me feel comfortable and confident. Jeans that don't give me the butt gap...shoes that don't hurt my feet (thanks Dansko!)...It's so hard to find either of these things now, so when I find companies that fit right and feel right then I can't help but be loyal.
What are your favorite brands?

Trench: Madewell | Dress: Zara | Jeans: Madewell | Flats: Zara | Bag: Furla | Sunglasses: Call It Spring
This Spring hasn't been the weather I've been waiting for. It's been chilly and wet...and not appropriate for all of my planned Spring outfits. Instead of letting Mother Nature dampen your Spring outfits a simple and quick solution is the t-shirt dress paired with light wash skinny jeans and a trench jacket. Light wash skinny jeans keep your legs looking long and the outfit looking airy. While the timeless trench keeps you looking warm and chic. Pair with neutral flats or pump up the height with a pair of heels.

Style Guide: Parisian Spring Style

Jacket: H&M | Shirt: J.Crew | Jeans: Madewell | Sneakers: Adidas | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Sunglasses: Warby Parker
1. Trench Coat. Timeless and always chic, a trench coat can pull you from work week to weekend.
2. Striped Tee. Go for a linen loose fitting stripped tee for a casual cool look.
3. Light Wash Skinny Jeans.
4. Bandana. Skip the neck jewels this spring and opt for a paisley print bandana.
5. Neutral Bag.
6. Adidas. Cool Parisian girls know how to rock a pair of sneaks. Of course Adidas are the brand of choice.

Inspirational Monday: Spring Dresses

Dress: Madewell | Shoes: J.Crew (old, similar style) | Bag: Coach (old) | Sunglasses: Loft
Spring, Summer, and Fall are my favorite seasons. We got super lucky this winter season as it was a really mild one. The transition into Spring was a pretty easy one even though some days have been warmer then others. With the temperatures reaching 70s some days (70s back into 50s is just a total tease) I have been in the mood for some Spring dresses. As much as I love total day dresses I also wanted a dress that I could wear all the time: weekday and weekend. This Madewell dress had just that, it has an ease to it that can be dressed up with a pair of heels for work (as seen above) or dressed down with some sneaks for a weekend look. Plus this 100% cotton jean material is super soft and lightweight so it can easily be taking from Spring to Summer.
What are you craving this Spring?
Here are some other Spring dresses that I'm currently eyeing:

How to Wear a Little Black Dress In the Spring
This Spring might be all about the LWD (Little White Dress), but lets be real the LBD is a classic that won't ever be toss aside. Plus, throwing anything black aside for a season is like a crime in New York. To make a LBD work in the Spring, work one into your wardrobe that has a light texture to it like eyelets (like this one), mesh (this one), or even a light crochet dress (and this one). These textures help give a light airy feeling. Continue this feeling through out the whole by adding pops of colors through your accessories, whether it's a colorful bag, jewelry, or shoes. Make sure not to do over do it with the colors, choose your one item to really be your statement maker.
How I Wore the Look:
Dress: Zara | Shoes: Forever21 | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Sunglasses: Aldo | Bracelets: c/o Ann Taylor |
Necklace: c/o Hugssy

I've had this crochet Zara dress for a couple of seasons now. I love breaking it during the Spring, as it light, feminine, and fun to pair with brighter colors. I kept my lipstick for my day look pretty neutral as I did a bold necklace, I didn't want the two to fight for the spot light. The LBD in the Spring works for the office and those Spring/Summer wedding

Wear the Trend: Lace Up Flats
Last Spring was all about the lace up heels this season the trend is back with a different twist. As much as I love my heels, I also like to throw on a chic pair of flats and go. These lace up flats add a chic flair to a similar pair of flats. The best thing about this trend is that you don't have to spend a lot to get this trend, two of my favorite pieces are from Jessica Simpson Zeena Flat and my newly added sandals from Necessary Clothing. You can easily transition this trend from work week to the weekend.

Top: Free People | Shorts: American Eagle | Sandals: Necessary Clothing | Bag: Coach | Sunglasses: Feather Boutique
Summer is all about the easy breezy looks. The lace up flat adds a touch of casual thoughtfulness to a look. Add a lace up sandal to complete a boho look; tunic top and cutoff shorts. This look is perfect for a stroll in the neighborhood or for brunch with friends.

Nothing says spring like printed pants and pastels! Take this trend to work by pairing the lace up flat with cropped printed pants and this summer's it pastel colors. These sandals are a bit casual, so to dress them up keep the rest of your look office appropriate. These are even perfect to wear to just get you to work, a lot more chic then just wearing flats or a pair of sneaks to the office.
Are you digging this trend as much as I am?
