1 Dress 2 Ways: The Weekend Edition
There is nothing quite like a easy throw on and go dress for those hot sticky weekends when getting dressed feels like a chore. Slip like dresses are not only comfortable but can easily be transitioned from day to night. They can take you from brunch with friends to late night drinks with a simple switch of accessories.
DAY LOOK:
We all get pretty lazy during the hot summer days, I mean I know do. Who even wants to think about getting dressed? This past weekend the fiance and I threw a little barbecue on our bare rooftop. Being that it's the end of July and it's a rooftop the thought of wearing anything more then a simple dress made me sweat. Before we can even start the day coffee called so this dress was perfect to throw on and go to our local coffee place and sit in the park to enjoy the morning. For a simple day look pair up your dress with a pair of your favorite sandals or flats. If you do jewelry keep it simple like a long chain necklace.
NIGHT LOOK:
After a day of barbecuing we all went out for some drinks at our favorite local bars. Throwing on a great pair of heeled booties can give the whole look a total different vibe and dress up it up a bit. Since we were staying local and since we live in Brooklyn I tied a denim top around my waist to keep it casual...and O so very Brooklyn.

Inspirational Monday: Simplicity

I've really been inspired by the simple things in life lately from a fresh clean room to a fresh clean look. Simplicity doesn't been have to mean boring. To me it just mean clean, fresh, and uncluttered. Sometimes our outfits much like our homes can be cluttered. Lately, I've found myself pairing easy dresses with bits of jewelry for a pop. Keeping it light and well simple. It's always nice to go back to basics.

The NYC Nighlife: Watermark Bar

Thursday night I was invited to the Watermark Bar launch party down at the new Pier 15 at the South Street Seaport. I thought this would be a great opportunity to have a night out with the fiance and dress up a little. I needed an excuse to wear this T by Alexander Wang dress that I risked my life for. Plus, I mean what more could you want, free drinks (ummm snow cone cocktails to be exact) and free snacks. The Watermark Bar is unlike anything I have seen in NYC, in a good way. It's all about the outdoor space, with wooden lounge chairs in the back giving it a posh poolside feel. You can even sit table side by the East River. The view at the South Street Seaport is one of the most beautiful views especially during dusk. This is surely a must stop for after work cocktails. Watch out rooftop bars there's a new guy in town!

The fiance and I found this little gem of a spot this weekend. Who knew there was a small pop-up pool at the Brooklyn Bridge Park?! This is much closer then any beach, since the park is walking distance (or at least 3 stops on the train) from where we live. It's a small pool that only allows 60 people in for a 45 minute swim session starting at each hour. Next to the pool is a little beach area and a lemonade stand that starts to sell boozey drinks starting at 6pm. But of course since we went on Sunday we had to take a walk over to Smorgasburg to get our food on. Glad I found this with enough time left in the summer to enjoy to this spot.
