Summer Fridays: Graphic Tee and Pencil Skirt
Many offices celebrate the summer by giving their employes summer Fridays. Which usually means half days. Well Fridays in my office just got a little quieter, our summer Fridays means full day off Fridays. Okay not every Friday, but 7 Fridays. I'll take it! Since the office will be more quiet and Fridays have always been more casual I decided to play around with the graphic tee by dressing it up a bit with a pencil skirt. I went bold with my Ninja Turtles graphic tee and paired it with my Tibi skirt (another score from the sampel sale!). To finish the look, I paired it with ankle strap heels to keep it dressy.

Dressing up a graphic tee is perfect for those days that call for after work hour cocktails. Also know your office surroundings. Don't go too bold with a graphic tee if you don't think it'll be work appropriate, instead try tees like Ted Baker Briya Bird Graphic Tee or Michael Kors Palm-Print Jersey T-Shirt.

Macy's Fall 2013 Preview
The collection, in Macy fashion, was filled with trendy pieces for all ages, taste, and lifestyles. They even created a new athletic line where proceeds will go to breast cancer research. The t-shirts for this line were super cute and reminded me a lot of what Nike has been doing with their own woman athletic shirts.
Lots of different prints could be found in this collection as well, from your typical stripes and florals to more cutesy fun prints like scottish terriers and scissors. One of my favorite lines was the MADE Fashion Week line. It played to the young woman, someone who might be in there 20s, working but still wants to show her fashionable side.
There were some stand out accessories in this line that are on my must have list for Fall 2013, including the double headed tiger bracelet. These pieces are perfect to take from work to date night. Or even from work week to weekend.
Then of course Macy's is known for their special occasion dressing, especially their teen dresses. I have to admit I'd would wear a couple of these dresses. I absolutely adored the rufflely floral dress with the beaded waist line. It's just the perfect little dress, something I could see myself wearing to my bridal shower. I also loved the lace and turquoise dress. The cream colored lace paired with the turquoise was a match made in heaven. It's a dress that I can see girls wearing to school dances or even to graduation.

Macy's always has something for the whole family. And this collection is nothing short of that! I already started my Macy's Must Have Fall 2013 List-- the eyeglass print sweater, the MADE white sweater with leather detail sleeves, and of course the tiger bracelet are on there for sure.
What do you thing of Macy's Fall 2013?
Not that I walk around with a bra on my head. Even though, I don't think I would get a second glance in NYC if I did. Or that my mom is, or ever was, prudish. Actually she is the exact opposite. My mother is a free spirit that was very open with me about my body and sex starting at a young age. I guess teaching a woman how to wear a bra correctly with a smaller chest is something that isn't taught; my mom too has a small chest. Even though we barely have enough to fill up a cup and can get away with not wearing a bra, don't you think we should also be taught how to size ourselves correctly? "Stick a band-aid on it" as my bra stylist, Katie, from Intimacy laughed as we talked about lingerie companies not really catering towards woman with smaller chest. I've never ever splurged on a bra, unless you consider a Victoria Secrets bra a splurge, because I never thought I had to. I've always figured woman with large chest needed the support and comfort so with that came splurging on bras that would give them what they needed. Given the opportunity to get fitted and to be gifted a with a fancy bra and undie set from Intimacy I knew I had to jump at this opportunity. I've gotten sized at VS before but being sized at Intimacy was a total different experience. No measuring tape used, just their own eyes and knowledge. Katie not only helped me find the right bra for me but also taught me how to wear my bra correctly. For as long as I've been wearing a bra I've been wearing them too high. Thanks mom.
I've always been self-conscious about having a smaller chest. I'm a padded bra type of girl, to at least give the illusion that I have something. But I have become comfortable with my own body and have embraced my chest, embraced it enough to "stick a band-aid on it" or at least a flower petal with a top that I don't necessary need a bra with. I've never been the lacey bra girl since most lace bras are not the everyday look, but as I get older I want to feel more "sexy." At least if not for myself, for my fiance. Okay maybe getting to personal here. ANYWAY the Marie-Jo bra that Katie helped me pick out was just perfect. It's flirty with the scallop lace trim on the straps, the lace detail around the bra, and it was my favorite powder blue color. The set was just too darling not to pick out for myself. Actually the scallop lace on the straps reminded me of the Stella McCarthy Bra that I featured on here some time ago.
The experience at Intimacy was one that I would recommend to any woman. The stylist know their bras, know woman, and have an ease about them that won't make you feel uncomfortable. As I have learned, you should treat yourself to some fancy undergarments, even if they'll be something that you won't wear everyday. An amazing bra can do wonders not only for your figure, but for your confidence as well. No matter what size you are, it's so worth feeling sexy. I will be back to get my wedding day essentials from Intimacy, that's for sure!

I've always loved the 1920s fashion...fringe, beading, feathers, ohmy! There was never enough embellishments in the 1920s. I remember reading The Great Gatsby in high school and falling in love with the book and the culture that was the roaring 20s. The 20s style never really left, you can constantly see hints of it in designer wear, but ever more so within these past few seasons.
The fiance and I went to go see The Great Gatsby this past Friday. Of course, I had to play with my modern day take of the 20s look. Nothing like a shaggy skirt on a Friday paired with a jean jacket to take it to modern day.

Baz Luhrmann's adaptation was what I was expecting it to be a little over the top with a little of a modern day twist to much like how Romeo and Juliet's adaptation was. Though the music choices were ummm....interesting...the fashion was dead on. The costume designer, Catherine Martin, did an amazing job bring the 1920s to life. I wish men still got dressed up everyday. *sigh*
