How to Dress Down the Party Dress

We all have that cocktail dress hanging in our closet that we wore maybe once to our office holiday party or to a fancy dinner, then hung it up in our closet to never touch again. Well don't let it just hang there! There are some simple ways in which you can dress down this party dress for a more casual look.

Denim Jacket. Never under estimate the power of a denim jacket. A denim jacket can transform a look from something dressy to something a lot more casual. This is perfect to throw over your cocktail dress to dress it down for a casual day in the office to after work cocktails.

The Unexpected Shoe. Go bold with your shoe choice. Now's the time to play with patterns or colors. Mix up colors and patterns help make the look less dressed up. Stay away from your usual black pumps or neutral heels, these will give it that dressy party feel.

Neutral Handbag. To bring the look together do a neutral handbag.

Would you take your party dress out for a day look?

  1. Lovely outfit! I really need to to invest in a denim jacket, I was just thinking how I can make a casual look, with an LBD I own. Thank you for the inspiration!
