Steal the Fall Trend for Less: Leather Skirts

There aren't many other things sexier then leather...That's why many designers sent models down the runway with leather skirts on for their Fall 2011 collections. Leather skirts paired up with basic sweaters to chambray tops to stomach bearing crop tops. These skirts can be dress up for a work day or dress down for lunch with the gals. Either way there is no need to spend a thousand plus on a leather skirt when you can steal this trend for less.

Racheal Comey Comfy and Cool in Leather

Leather Skirt- Rachel Comey

MTWTFSS Weekday blue sweater, €30
H M flared skirt, £20
Michael Antonio brown boots, $50
Forever21 braided belt, $5.80

Racheal Comey paired up her pleated black leather skirt with a simply comfy sweater. This look works for those casual days in the office or for meeting your boy up for coffee. The leather skirt adds a bit of edginess to the look but the sweater brings it back down to earth. All you need to pull of this look is a comfy blue sweater like the one from Weekday.com ($40) and a black leather (or pleather) skirt like the flared H&M skirt ($33). Pair the whole look up with brown ankle booties and a brown little belt.

3.1 Phillip Lim Layers in Leather

3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2011 Fall Skirt

J Crew boyfriend shirt, $98
H m coat, £60
Forever21 a line skirt, $23
Zara leather booties, $90
Forever21 wayfarer shades, $5.80
UGG Australia Rib Knit Scarf Brown One Size, $75

A longer leather skirt, one that hits the knee or right below, says work day ready. 3.1  Phillip Lim bundled his model down with a long black jacket, scarf, chambray shirt, and leather skirt. The chambray shirt also adds a bit of casualness to the whole look. What is fantastic about this whole look is that many of us have the essentials hanging in our closet already; like the black scarf, jacket, and chambray shirt. I love when designers carry over spring trends into the fall, makes it easy on our wallets! Of course the whole purpose of this look is the skirt and Forever21 has a fantastic A-line "leather" (or "leatherette") skirt that is very compatible in look of 3.1 Phillip Lim but definitely not in price. The Forever21 skirt will only cost you $23! Another fun twist on this look is the asymmetrical shoe, which you can find at Zara for $90!

Would you guys rock the leather skirt?
