Steal the Look for Less: Tuxedo Love

Take a note from the Fall runway and get inspired by menswear. Up and down the Fall runway you couldn't help but notice the tuxedo trend in woman's wear. So get out those crisp white button downs and head to the men's section of the department store to buy bow-ties by the hand full.

The great thing about this look is that you can play on femininity and masculinity. You can go as harsh and manly like but play with the look with a sexy twist like Ruffian did. The took a classic tuxedo pants and pair it up with a nude color shirt, which at first glance looks sheer.

Celebrities are already starting to break out the tuxedo look but adding a twist to it. Diane Kruger was seen at an InStyle event rocking her version of the tuxedo look. She pair up her black shorts with a button down white shirt and a bright blue blazer.

Playing with colors is another great way to not look to boyish in this look. It keeps things balanced, plus the short hems shows off those lady legs. Another added bonus about this look...it's SUPER cheap. Many of us have a lot of the essentials in our closets (or in our man's closet). The MUST HAVES a button down top and blazer. The added pieces: bow-tie. The bottoms can be whatever you feel fitting, skirt, shorts, leggings, black slacks....etc.. But here are some other great styling tips for less to looking you fierce in a tuxedo.

Take a note from Diane Kruger and go BOLD. Bright colors will lighten up your day or night...especially during the fall/winter months. Bright bold blazers will help make a statement (not that this outfit needed any help making a statement). Do easy colors to match up like blues and reds. Bold reds work well with light and printed tops. If you are looking for a fun flare try a printed top that's a little share and has it's own bow-tie like the Modcloth Leopard On Me top ($33). This top will show of a bit of your wild side.

Playing with the menswear inspired theme go for high heel loafers like the Asos Prince High Vamp Buckle Platform Shoe ($78). If you aren't a high heel girl go for a kitten heel like the Miss Selfridge Sloane Black Patent Loafer ($65) or a flat loafer.

Don't forget for those fall months you'll need some coverage so play with printed tights. Go for sexy suspender tights when wearing a short hem line like shorts or a short skirt. This will add sex appeal and a twist of femininity.

Add a little more color into your outfit buy doing colorful accessories. Don't be afraid to colorblock with a bright handbag like the Jane Norman envelope clutch bag ($29). This adds more color to an outfit and will really make it all pop!

REMEMBER! If you do a boyfriend blazer remember to keep your bottoms tighter like straight leg jeans, leggings, body-con skirts, etc.. You don't want to get lost in baggy clothing. On the other hand if you blazer is more fitted go for wide leg pants. Cropped blazers? High waist pants are the answer.

What do you guys think about the tuxedo trend? Will you be rocking it this Fall?
